White box – animation by Makoto Yabuki. It’s sweet!
Monday, August 17th, 2009
Makoto Yabuki is a Japanese artist who has done some brilliant animation and photography combined with computer generated stuff. His “White box” animation really hit us because it looks like it’s straight out of the TV OFF candyland :)

Is your shadow playing tricks on you behind your back?
Sunday, July 26th, 2009
Two recent art project we have come across have one thing in common: they play with shadows.
Ever played with hand shadows? The British artists Tim Noble and Sue Webster sure have. And now they are doing it with piles of rubbish, just take a look:

That’s a picture of a piece called “White Trash (With Gulls)”, one of their earliest shadow work. That’s really the shadow of that pile of rubbish projected on the wall. There’s more to be seen at Environmental Graffiti blog. Btw, that’s six months of household waste – this artist couple has a few things to say about the way we live.
On a lighter note, Katie Sokoler has real fun with shadows. She taped paper shadow people onto street walls in Brooklyn and photographed people walking by at the exact moment they matched their shadows. Her photos are really funny and positive:

Here’s more pictures of her Shadow Project, guaranteed to make you smile.
Katie Sokoler also runs a blog worth checking out, she seems to have a positively colorful view on life. It’s called Color Me Katie.
Post-it stop motion animation

I did a blog post about Post-it note art earlier this year, now I’m going for it again – and this time the sticky little pieces of paper are moving!
Imagine the amount of work done for that.
Album cover art final day
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009
The album cover art is almost done! There’s going to be a big foldout with lots of candies in it (surprisingly), individual pictures for each song on the album and a lot of fun in the details.
Sneak preview:
Album cover art day 4
Friday, July 3rd, 2009
There’s a lot of stuff on the studio floor! This pile of stuff is going to end up being the album page for “I Mind Now”… somehow.
Here’s a TV OFF megaphone.
Listening to an old Amorphous Androgynous record while working, still brilliant.
Album cover art day 3

Play-Doh, water colors and hundreds of photos.
It’s the TV OFF candy! Then there’s this:
Short movie recommendation: Synesthesia
Wednesday, July 1st, 2009
Here’s a fun short movie called Synesthesia by Terri Timely (a film making duo formed by Ian Kibbey and Corey Creasey). It’s pretty brilliant and even has cats in it.
Album cover art day 2
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009
Day #2: lots of paper chaff, scissors, glue, paint and lyrics. These are going to make the “I Mind Now” page on the album cover.
These little cuties cannot wait to get photographed:
Here’s a sneak preview on day #1’s edited results, not revealing too much yet :)
Album cover art day 1
Monday, June 29th, 2009
The deadline for the album cover art is closing so we better start working. While we’re at it we thought it would be cool to document the process and give some sneak previews of what is going to be the TV OFF album cover.
Here we go, day 1, photoshoots.
Minor problem: the heat wave hit Helsinki so the bananas are close to dead.
